Israel is a contracting party to the Berne Convention for the protection of lietrary and artistic works
(Paris Act).

Copyrights in Israel relate to artistic, literary, dramatic and musical works.
The Israeli copyrights laws are infact remnants of the British Mandate.
A draft for a new Copyright Law was recently proposed.

Copyrights last from the creation date of the work throughout the creator's life and for 70 years after his death.

In joint-authorship works copyright protection lasts for 70 years from the death of the last remaining author.

Pseudonym works are protected for 70 years from publication, unless the identity of the author became known, in which case copyright protection then lasts throughout his life and for 70 years form his death.

Recordings are protected for 50 years after the production date of the master recording.

Photographs are protected for 50 years after the production date of the negative.
